With legal and accounting background, he had the opportunity to acquire some hands-on exposure in finance, corporate turnaround and international marketing covering various industries. His post graduate thesis is on conversion of conventional into Islamic finance operations. Islamic banking and Shari’ah advisory were always his subjects of interest compared to other assignments he had been exposed to for the past 24 years. He had the experience of corporate restructuring local and international entities as well as working closely with various stakeholders from regulatory bodies, industry players, corporate entities and academicians. Currently, he focuses on restructuring the Association of Shariah Advisors in Islamic Finance (ASAS), an affiliate of Central Bank Malaysia (BNM) for Shariah fraternity certification and talent/capacity building.
He has been an Associate Research Fellow for IRCIEF KUIS since 2016 and appointed as Industrial Expert for Faculty Muamalat & Economy KUIPs since 2019. He was Board of Study (BoS) member for Bachelor Degree program in Finance at Business and Accounting Faculty, University Malaya between 2020 -2024. He is a Certified Training Professional (CTP) under Finance Accreditation Agency (FAA), Malaysia. Moderated and participated in various international conferences, seminars (in Asia Pacific and Middle East) including special dedicated programs at Bank Negara Malaysia. Invited as a committee member in various initiatives including Capital Market Development (including Stock Exchange), Shariah Governance review, Shariah Committee Succession Plan Initiative and Islamic Finance curriculum. He is a member of Institute of Corporate Director Malaysia (ICDM).
