

With over 18 years of experience in banking, including digital and traditional models, Oz is a recognised award-winning leader in banking, FinTech and Islamic finance. Having held several senior management roles with international exposure in the UK, the Middle East and Asia, Oz has innovated financial services solutions and advised governments in Islamic Finance. He has also been involved as an advisor and angel investor in the UK FinTech community for over 7 years. A Founder and Executive Chairman of the FCA-regulated UK FinTech company, mmob which specialises in Embedded Finance and Services and Open Banking technology. It operates internationally and is considered a leader in Embedded Finance and Service. It’s mission is to support it’s clients in giving greater access and choice to customers and achieving growth through innovation. Oz is currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors in Berjaya Capital Berhad, an investment holding arm of Berjaya Corporation that provides financial services such as stockbroking, general insurance, life assurance, leasing, hire purchase, nominee and portfolio management. His focus is on FinTech and social impact through financial services. Prior to taking on this role, Oz has been the CEO of two international banks spanning over 7 years. As the CEO of alrajhi bank Malaysia, he oversaw the attainment of strong financial performance whilst simultaneously launching a double award-winning Digital Bank, rize. Previously as the CEO of HSBC Amanah, Oz oversaw the return of the bank to the number 1 foreign Islamic bank in peer rankings in Malaysia and also introduced the strategy to convert the bank into a Sustainable banking entity. Historically, Oz has held the role of both Secretary and Treasurer of the Association of Islamic Banking and Financial Institutions Malaysia – the first foreigner to hold these positions. Oz holds a ‘Corporate Directors Certificate’ from Harvard Business School, an MBA with distinction from London Business School’s Executive program, a ‘Masters in Economics, Finance and Management’ from the University of Bristol and a BSc (Hons) in ‘Information Management’ from University College London. He is also a Chartered Banker and Chartered Islamic Finance Professional. In 2018, he was awarded Islamic Banker of the Year by The Asset AAA in their global Islamic finance awards. In 2024, he was awarded FinTech Leader by the Global Islamic Finance Awards.
