Nurul Izza Idris is Director of Islamic Finance Department at Bank Negara Malaysia. She has over 15 years of experience in Islamic financial sector development and regulation. Her involvement in cross-sectoral projects relating to economic policies, financial stability and financial innovation has enabled her to explore wide-ranging strategic and policy issues such as agriculture modernisation, digital finance, and risk protection for SMEs. She played an instrumental role in the development of the Financial Sector Blueprint 2022-2026 and the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013. She holds a Master of Laws and Bachelor of Laws from the London School of Economics and Political Science and University College London respectively.
