    Ms Sufinah Sahat currently serves as the Assistant Managing Director of Corporate Development at Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB). She joined BDCB in 2011 and has held the Assistant Managing Director role since 2018. In this capacity, she plays a pivotal role in steering the central bank’s corporate strategies and development, overseeing key areas such as finance, human resources, technology, legal affairs, and corporate services.

    From 2018 until July 2024, she also served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Brunei Institute of Leadership and Islamic Finance (BILIF), a Center of Excellence under BDCB. During her tenure, she was instrumental in shaping the institute’s strategic direction, fostering leadership development, and advancing Islamic finance within the industry. She led BILIF to notable milestones, including the launch of the Leadership in Islamic Finance and Economics (LIFE) programme for industry experts and the establishment of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) initiatives. Under her leadership, two of BILIF's flagship programs received international accreditation from The London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF), and the institute gained global recognition with several prestigious awards such as the GIFA Excellence Award and the Best Islamic Finance Education & Training Brunei by Global Banking & Finance Review.

    She holds a Master of Business Administration from York St John University, is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and has a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Sheffield. Her expertise includes financial management, project management, facilities management, human resource management, and
    transformational change management.
